What is the difference between In-Home Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspots?
In-Home Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hotspots both lets you connect device wirelessly to the Internet. You can browse, download, and stream from your wireless enabled devices such as laptop, tablet, ipad, and smartphones without connecting modem or router through wired connection.
However there is big difference between Home Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hotspot location. Home Wi-Fi is a private Wi-Fi Internet connection inside your home or office that allows to connect device within router range limit. While Wi-Fi hotspot locations is a public wireless Internet connection available nationwide such as at coffeeshops, restaurants, public library, airports, and many more that allows you to connect to the Internet while on-the-go.
To setup Wi-Fi in your home, first you need is active high speed Internet connection. Your ISP will provide you either a cable modem or wireless gateway. If you just have cable modem then you need to buy wireless router and connect it to your cable modem. Wireless gateway has in-built modem and wireless router. Once you have Wireless router connected to modem or wireless gateway setup in your home then you can connect any Wi-Fi capable device wirelessly to the Internet.

nationwide with qualifying Verizon high speed and Fios Internet service.
Xfinity Wi-Fi Hostposts
Comcast offers free access to nationwide XFINITY Wi-Fi hotspots locations with Performance Internet and above. Performance Starter and below not eligible for free access to Xfinity Wi-Fi hostspots.
